Halimun-Salak National Park
-second trip (18-20 dec 2009)
This time we took another route. We met in Bubulak bus station in Bogor. Then, we took ankot (local transportation) to Leuwiliang. From Leuwiliang, we rented 4 Suzuki carry to Citalahab (a village in halimun). The route is a bit more comfortable than the route from kabandungan. The bumpy road is not as worse as Kabandungan route. The difference is if we take kabandungan route, we will see forest along the way to Cikaniki/Citalahab, while by taking leuwiliang route, we will see tea plantation.
We stayed in a homestay there. We had decent meals everyday. Thank to pak Agus, he’s our cook. Having him around us, we never ran out of food.
On our first day, we had night hiking to see the phosphorous fungus. On the second day, we spent the day by having jungle tracking and had a campfire at night. Before we went back home, we had a fun game with local children in the village. That was fun :))

When a GIRL is quiet ...
millions of things are running in her mind.
When a GIRL is not arguing ...
she is thinking deeply.
When a GIRL looks at u with eyes full of questions ...
she is wondering how long you will be around.
When a GIRL answers ' I'm fine ' after a few seconds ...
she is not at all fine.
When a GIRL stares at you...
she is wondering why you are lying.
When a GIRL lays on your chest ..
she is wishing for you to be hers forever.
When a GIRL wants to see you everyday...
she wants to be pampered.
When a GIRL says ' I love you ' ...
she means it.
When a GIRL says ' I miss you ' ....
no one in this world can miss you more than that.

Always said I would know where to find love
Always thought I'd be ready and strong enough
But sometimes I just felt I could give up
But you came and you changed my whole world now
I'm somewhere I've never been before
Now I see
What word love means
CHORUS:
It's so unbelievable
And I don't wanna let it go
Its something so beautiful
Flowing down like a waterfall
I feel like you've always been
Forever a part of me
And it's so unbelievable
To finally be in love
Somewhere I never thought I'd be

HARD DAYS
Last week was a hard one for me. I got this inconvenient situation involving me and one of my male fellow teachers.
He’s my senior but regretfully doesn’t act like one. I and he were supposed to check essays and observe a presentation together. I reminded him to let me check them first but he didn’t let me. Finally, he was about to hand them in to me at the last minutes. Then, I refused to check the essays because that was the day for observing the presentation. I didn’t want to check them in such a hurry. Well…no thanks! And what the heck was on his mind?
That was my final decision. I didn’t like the way he treated me. I didn’t like his selfish nor his ‘mentally ill’ behavior. I have been teaching there for almost four years, I notice that he’s been making more enemies than friends. I guess he considers me as one of his enemies now. Should I mind about that? halimun national park
It is located in West Java, Indonesia. From Jakarta, it takes about 2,5 to 3 hours by car to parungkuda. After that, it takes about 1 hour 10 minutes to Kabandungan then another 1,5 hours to cikaniki research station by car. There is a guest house in Kabandungan forestry office and another one in cikaniki research station. Halimun national park is one of the biggest rain forests in java.
We stayed overnight in kabandungan guest house. There's only one guest house in kabandungan forestry office. The guest house consists of 4 bedrooms, a dining room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. In each bedroom, there are 2 single beds, but guests can ask for 1 extra bed if it is needed.
The room rate is Rp. 125,000/night. Don't expect for breakfast because it doesn't include breakfast. Well, actually they don't provide the guests a breakfast. But you can cook, you can use the kitchen. It is equipped with utensils. This guest house is clean and quite cozy.
You can reach this guest house about 1 hour 10 minutes from parungkuda by car. It costs you Rp.12.000 if you take local transportation (colt).
Road to cikaniki research station
It took about 1,5 hours from kabandungan office/guest house to cikaniki research station by colt/car. The road is bumpy and rocky.
The trip to cikaniki was really tiring but when you got there….the tiredness disappeared! The air is fresher, cleaner, and colder than the air in kabandungan. The water is also colder. Everything is so fresh. Welcome to halimun national park. One of the biggest rain forests in java.
