Kareta Karaton Museum (The Royal Carriages Museum)
This museum is in the west of Karaton Ngayogyakarta, on Jalan Rotowijayan not far from alun-alun. It’s an old-big-Javanese style building. Next to the building, there is a stable.
The names of some royal carriages are:
Kanjeng Kyai Garudo Yekso, used for the coronation of sultan Hamengku Buwono X
Kanjeng Nyai Jimad, an old carriage with leather spring, used by the first Sultan
Kyai Mondro Juwolo, belonged to Prince Diponegoro, the son of the third Sultan
Kyai Jatayu for the queen
Kyai Wimonoputro for the Crown Prince
Etc
The admission to enter the museum is only Rp.3000/person plus Rp.1000 for photograph and video permit.
